Words that they said about him but that Game was just like just wanted more from Him man like that could have really Stamped that opinion like That is one of The you know what I mean but now that he Missed those chances I think the Lara Martinez big games um record isn't great As well and as as soon as it went to Penalties I knew it leted one man I knew Yeah the masters of it proban oack as Well because he's not had his best Season but like just goes to show you Know so much chat about like who's the Best Keeper in the world usually like It's between you know Allison well People often have talked about either Allison or CTO over the last few years It's like Yan black really over the last Decade I think Cody Manuel Neer can you Could can claim to be the best Keeper of The last 10 years overall black like He's so consistent well you know I say Consistent yeah hasn't had his best Season this season but um you to step up In the penalty shootout like that um one Fairly easy save another not so like the Second one not so easy um what please Alexis it was a bad pen bad pen really Bad pen but also like talk about you Talk about the atmosphere at the Emirates and you know like the Metropolitano oh my God my leg shaking The Whistle the whist just how loud the

Whistles were for Alexis and earlier in The game as well so many times but like When Alexis stepped up oh my God like That was knew he was going to yeah the Connection between that ground Simeone The players is is pretty unique isn't it Yeah and for a new you know there's a Relatively new stadium as well like to To be able to kind of conjure that kind Of atmosphere in there not to take away From the Emirates but like you see kind Of you see a club that is very used to Laying on a very hostile atmosphere for A European rival versus versus Arsenal Where yeah they haven't really had to do That as much over the last few years um Yeah it's telling but I'm I'm really Disappointed that inter get didn't get To the quarterfinals because I just Think like they deserved it they they You know given how great they've been in Sera given they've been you know they Are the most free scoring team in Europe Like like I I really like Laro Martinez I think he deserves a run in the Tournaments you know awful awful penalty In that moment but he looked at the Penalty spot that's when you knew that Look at the penalty SP he also F the Ball a little bit when he picked it up As well like oh man it's just so painful Like and yeah I just think I just really Like that inter team I really really Like that inter team um and the way they

Play um so it's a shame that they won't Be going further and also it's it's mad You know like this time last year we Were talking about the the you know the The Ser Revival you know like Napoli Milan and Inter all in the quarterfinals Obviously inter and AC making it to the Semis as well and now there's no Italian Team in the quarterfinals it's like Gone Gone between two extremes there um I Think you can't make too much of that Though because like you tweeted Something about that ear I just feel Like is we all do it I think I'm prone To do it as well almost against the Premier League of like putting too much Importance on these two-legged ties Because there is so much it's a very Low-scoring game like finishing comes Into it the the luck of the draw Injuries at the time availability so Like judging entire leagues of Two-legged ties it's it's the best way To do it but it is still still a flawed Way and like Italian teams doing very Well in the other competition so yeah For sure and you look at like Spanish Football is not in a particularly good Place and yet three Spanish teams are in The in the quarterfinals which is more Than England more than Germany so yeah You can definitely make too much of that But but it's still a shame not to have An Italian representative in the

Quarterfinal especially given just how Good inter are um but yeah they should They they should have won that game like They should have had that yeah they hand The chance can we just big up one person Absolutely Jaden Sano yeah Jaden s big Moment he had a brilliant game got mad At the match in in that game as well and I think there was this obviously the Fact that it didn't really work out at United he went to Dortmund their fans Weren't really seeing what they saw First time around but I think the last Two games he's got two goals a big goal In in a knockout um knockout game in the Champions League he just looked like he Was playing with that freedom again and It was beautiful to see I can't lie I Don't know how you feel as a as a United Fan I think well yeah as a United fan You want to see him do well over the Next few months cuz um well I mean first Of all for the player because you know He he you know only two three years ago He was considered alongside Holland like The uh you the outstanding young player In Europe um and secondly from a United Perspective you know either you know Well he his value kind of trickles back Up with performances for Dortmund and And United can sell him you know not at Too big a loss in the summer or Depending on what you know the the new Kind of regime once at Old Trafford

Whether they want to keep ten hog or not If ten hog doesn't you know survive After the end of the season then maybe They employ a new manager who is more You know is is more willing to take on Sancho um I I imagine a new manager Would be wanting to take on Sancho um so Yeah it kind of it gives the club more Advantageous options in that sense in Terms of like what what happens um to Sancho and obviously for for Sancho's Future in general it's it's a positive Cuz clearly was just so sapped of Confidence in that last kind of 12 Months at United so um so no definitely A good thing yeah Ed didn't T said Afterwards that he needs to smile to Play his best football and it seemed Like he was smiling a lot uh right let's Get into the meat and potatoes of Today's show basically we're talking About one thing holding your Club back This season yeah fair you don't like Your Sunday roast do you I do but I've Never heard get into your meats and Potatoes fair enough yeah plenty more Culinary uh twists and turns coming in Today's show did you think it was a Euphemism I just didn't I've never heard It before good one though I might use That in the future yeah anyway let's get Into it because we're talk about one Thing holding your Club back this season We're not going to talk about the top

Three we did a title race special last Week and to be honest nothing's really Holding them back that we didn't mention Last week There's a few injury issues But they've been magnificent so really We're going from fourth downwards Picking out the notable sides that are Having poor Seasons so the likes of Chelsea I'm afraid going to mention Newcastle man united but if you're Having a good season like wolves we Don't mention you anyway let's I mean The first two teams that we are Mentioning have had good Seasons Absolutely yeah yeah yeah it's well Worth clarifying that lots of the teams That we do mention are having good Seasons but we're just looking at those Little marginal gains that potentially Could be even better for them right Let's kick off oh and to clarify me and Mikey are doing the suggestions Auber is Acting as judge jury and executioner you Ready for that role I'm ready I should Have bought one of those jury hats and Stuff that that would have been perfect Little G right let's get started let's Talk about Aston Villa Mikey where do You think or what do you think I should Say it's holding them Back um I mean yeah it's hard to say if Anything's holding them back they've had Such a good season I don't think there's Not much more they've been able to do

Really um you know I think oie Watkins Has been the outstanding number nine in The Premier League this season um right Up there for Player of the Year for me As well right up there for play Player Of the Year alongside the likes of you Know van djk alongside the likes of Declan Rice yeah sacka foden for sure as well Um and I think there are two things that I think have held them back a little bit I think first off um just the the drop Off I guess in quality in terms of Center backs um when ezri coner and pal Torres haven't been fit um I think pal Torres has only lost they've only They've lost four games since November Pal Torres has only been the only one That Torres played in was the 4-n loss To Spurs So I think that's been a factor um but We were kind of saying this before don't Want to get too bugged down in injuries For every Club because you can kind of Say for you can make a case for everyone And like you know when we get on to like Man united and Newcastle I think there's A strong case there but Villa chelse toe Chelsea to a degree as well but I think With Villa it's just there's been kind Of one or two areas where there's been Injury problems but generally speaking They haven't been you know completely Ravaged so I would say that the one

Thing that has held them back if there Has been anything that's held them back Has been the declining form of Musa dii I think you know he's that he was we Spoke about him a couple of weeks ago on The show he was their top signing um I Believe is he their record signing as Well yeah um in the summer and you know Un Amar has been great has taken a lot Of pressure off him you know just said You know players have adaption periods In the Premier League especially and That's absolutely fine like he's he's Not had an awful first season um I think It's what four goals and five assists in The League this year and especially Given that he hasn't you know his last Six appearances have come off the bench I think 10 of his last 15 appearances Have come off the bench that's you know That's fine and and he you know him not Guessing into that first team as a Result of him you know as a result of The other players around him you know Just just being better I guess or or Being more suited to the system as Emory Sees it which is fine when you're in a Team which is going for the top four um Against the odds um so you can't Begrudge him too much but nevertheless If dib had hit the ground running and Sustained the kind of form that we saw From him in the early weeks of the Season then who knows maybe Villa would

Have made an even better case for Finishing fourth um you know this is a Guy who was absolutely Electric in his Last three Four Seasons at lusen you Know was so Central to leverkusen's Initial success under jabby Alonzo last Year able to play centrally and on the Right even on the left as well but that You know that relationship that he had With Jeremy frong was so Central to Their you know climbing up the table Last year Aston Villa really punching Above their weight to sign him you know This was a guy who was being looked at By Tottenham this is a guy who was being Looked at by Newcastle in particular um You know a Newcastle side which had Qualified for the Champions League um And they managed to get their hands on Him an amazing piece of Recruitment and I think one it that will prove a really Great piece of recruitment in the long Term I fully expect drb to explode next Year um but you know the shining star Like aside from Watkins in the Villa Attack has been Leon Bailey now and um I I think in some ways you can kind of Credit Musa dib's acquisition a little Bit for that because when dib first came In and was playing centrally it actually Freed up a little bit Leon Bailey on the Right in a way that we hadn't really Seen before um and I think you know Maybe even just the fact of having a

Former leusen team team mate in the team With him maybe kind of opt his Confidence as well as the fact that he's Like now fully adapted to the Premier League um but Nevertheless I think yeah I just still Would have liked to have seen more from Moi and you know maybe that's Emory's Fault maybe you know he just hasn't he Hasn't really played on the wing at all This season you know we've seen John Mcin get way more minutes out wide um I Say out wide he's not exactly been Hugging the touch line but you know in a Wide position then then Musa dii this Year year and and it would have been Nice to have seen maybe a bit more Experimentation in terms of where he's Used at least from the start of games Cuz I know he's getting a lot of minutes On the bench I know he got a really good Assist um a few weeks ago so like I have No doubt that we will see more but like Yeah I I think yeah there could have Been more there there could have been More there and and we could have seen Villa um yeah score even more goals in That sense fair enough fair enough I'm Going down a similar sort of Route I Feel almost a bit guilty about this cuz I do think the the chemistry in that Squad has been really really good at Times and I think that has come from a Very consistent lineup but I do think

There has been a bit of a lack of Rotation again that's partly down to the Fact that their squad probably isn't up To scratch with not even the Spurs like The teams below that as well because so Many Gerard signings be that coutinho Dandona Etc didn't really work out in The way that they had envisaged but five Of their players have started uh 25 out Of 28 League games Spurs only have three That have done that you know eight Players Uh have started 20 League games only six For Spurs like there are just more Players in there that have played Considerably more minutes and there Could have been a bit more rotation Though I mean Diego Carlos is known for Being injury-prone he hasn't actually Missed a game with injury this year but He's only played 13 Premier League games Clement longlay took it till around December I think around Christmas Day For him to make his Premier League debut Uh Zolo has his minutes have completely Collapsed I think he's played 13% of Minutes since the middle of November so It just feels like there could have been A little bit more rotation there there Has been injuries to key players you Know previously Jacob Ramsey was a key Player under gerro early under Emory as Well he's kind of had some injury issues So there is some sympathy there but it

Does feel injury has like it recently as Well really changed the way that that Shapes worked hasn't it they've been Playing two up top pretty much Exclusively John mcin had to drop back Into kind of a de a deeper role and They're you know kind of playing with Left and right midfielders and yeah I Mean they have had a lot of things go Against them recently but they've lost You know three of their last seven games Since Christmas in terms of points won Since Christmas they should be eighth uh Which is actually lower than Chelsea and Between Everton and brenford so it's It's not like they've been brilliant Recently but it's still they still Deserve respect for being in the top Four being top four contention but I Think that is maybe something that They'll look at more rotation but then Emory's not really known for that in the League so OB we've kind of got they're Kind of quite similar M diab's drop off Or maybe a lack of rotation I think it I Think it has to be a lack of rotation But the only reason I say that is Because when you look up what Le Leon Bailey is doing for Aston Villa I'd say That he's almost carrying his weight so If drb that was the whole reason you you Have like top quality Wingers if if a Dib is not doing well you can get a Bailey in that will will you know score

Goals get the assists and be the the Other Creator in the team when other Players aren't doing well but I think When you talk about the rotation a Reason why Aston Villa are going through So many injuries is because they are Over relying on the players that are Playing well and you're seeing injuries To a Kamara um to to um pal Torres as Well when those players are now out of The side you're bringing in players that Could have been up to it you could have Maybe built their confidence in games That maybe you know you've got a better Squad and because you've you've you know That in your score and you know that of That quality you know give them those Games like I think Aston Villa at a Point where they need to use all of Their players because they're still they Were playing in Europe because they're Playing in the Cup competitions like you Need to do that at that stage and I Think emry was was struggling with that And now that he almost has been forced To do it those players are maybe Struggling with the pace of of games and Zolo when he came in we like okay that's That's an interesting Sig and we know He's got quality but what can he do in This side and we don't really see as Much of him as we' want to do you know What I mean and I think if he was able To you know give those players trust and

Use them without being forced to he Could have seen more of them yeah yeah I Think there there's a bit of recruitment In there as well it's like you know like Say with the kamaro injury I know he's a Very different but like do do you have To change the system that much if you Trust Tans to play in a bit of a deeper Role and still be able to free up John Mcin in a in a more advanced role like Emory could have done that but he chose Not to because he prefers to play Tans Off the striker like I don't know like I Feel like that that that that doesn't Seem like necessarily the best use of Resources necessarily like I think you Know I absolutely love the job that unai 's done there but like there are still Yeah there are certainly still question Marks over you know how he actually uses The players at his disposal I think That's probably what he needs to just Get to the next stage like in terms of Obviously they're still going to be Fighting for that top four spot but okay You're getting to the final stages of The Season you need To yeah you need to get it you need to Get it right because that 4-0 loss Against Spurs at home that's the damning Loss like anywhere you look at it that's A that's a big loss and you have to Bounce back from that because players Are going to start second guessing

Themselves they've been going so well Almost not under the radar but almost a Team that everyone's saying but you need To talk about Villa when they were in The llight and they had their their home Game against the team that is directly Behind them they failed so it's like Emry what can you do to that almost Bridge that Gap yeah puts them under not Pressure for tonight but it'll be Interesting to see what happens against Ajax of course you'll know the result by That you know on the basis of their Performances this season you'd expect Villa to go through but it'll be it'll Be really really interesting right let's Move on to Spurs I think you know we Talk about Villa but spurs in many ways No I'll put them on a level with Villa In terms of biggest one of the biggest Surprise packages of this year because I Think Kane leaving they signed Brennan Johnson not really a like for like Replacement I think many people Including myself had them eighth ninth Maybe be top four contention I think Favorites for top four now on the basis Of last weekend at least is a really Really impressive feat on the basis of Their underlying numbers they should Actually been a bit lower and I think a Lot of Spurs fans would probably say That they haven't necessarily been their Best in 2024 um but I think one of the

One of the errors they made in in the Summer and they did Rectify in January With signing drag of shin but I think They should have signed two center backs In in the summer I think that period Where vanen was out and Romero was out Really really cost them and Romero I Love Romero and his discipline has got a Lot better this year but he's not Someone you can rely on to not get Suspended at different points this year He also picks up the occasional injury And vanen seems to have recurrent Hamstring injuries at least on the basis Of this season so far which is Unfortunate but you know Spurs lost two Of the 18 games that fer has played this Year without him it's been an absolute Shambles their win percentages drops From 67% to 44% and I know a lot of Those games were were also when Romero Is out but that's not really good enough If you want to not just be competing for Top four because poog's made clear that He's not just there to qualify for the Champions League he wants to push on Spurs break that Trophy hudo and see how Far they can go um and yeah I think I Think the fact that Ben Davies was used There Emerson was used there it didn't Feel like there was enough forward Planning for what was not a clear Eventuality but something that you could See happening Romero getting suspended

SL injured vaner picking up an injury um And drosin has played a number of Minutes now Off the Bench you know good Luck to him I'm sure he'll he'll make an Impact when he's there and settled but The fact they were looking at vanen and Tap sober in particular I think last Summer the bar lusen Center back who you Know on the basis of this season made The correct decision in sty staying at B Lusen I think they should have sign Another Center back especially with Ashley Phillips being brought in well Only 18 being on loan at Plymouth he's Only started there recently um and I Think they just left themselves short There and it was a little bit of a Mistake cuz that was the the the most Difficult point I mean in terms of what They do going forward Ben Davis is out Of contract in 2024 there's someone like Lloyd Kelly at Bournemouth who's out of Contract this summer someone like tosen At fulham's out of contract this summer As well that's a really good fourth Choice Center back option I think they'd Be I think they'd be brilliant um and Then for more of a wild card option I Was thinking about who they could go for Muhammad simakan at RB liip can cover Right back and can cover at Center back And that would maybe mean that you can Move on from Emerson Royale and then I Also found the name of a guy at stutgart

Who I actually didn't know that that Much about but wemore an Anton is a Stard center back he's been a regular There for the last four years star Absolutely flying this year really high Up in passes Progressive carries Progressive passes as well so it feels Like a Spurs style Center back so that's Maybe one to keep an eye on for the Future but I did feel like their Center Back recruitment last summer maybe left Them a little bit short I don't know Whether you agreed with that Mikey yeah I I I I went down a similar route to be Honest it was yeah lack of Def in fact It wasn't really just last summer Because I can understand why they didn't Recruit another Center back in many ways Because you know Eric Dyer was still at The club um and I think they wanted to Get rid of him first before yeah like I Did forget about D to be fair but like Um you know and obviously he he's you Know he's now at Bayern Munich jua move There permanently in the summer now and Obviously yeah like you said got in Drish in but I I do well first first of All I think on poster cogo I I still Think I know he lost trust he you know Like he lost the trust or D lost the Trust of of Posta cogu it seemed in kind Of November after he kind of came in for Romero in that 4-1 loss to Chelsea and Then I think started the following loss

To wolves um but I still think he would Have been a better choice than you know Than Emerson and Davis partnering each Other in the following games um when Romero and um And vaner were out But yeah but but I understand sorry I Understand why they didn't go for a Second Center back last summer because They just had so much other work to do You know they had to secure the services Of James Madison obviously Harry Kane Left um and they had to get an extra Cover up top um so I do understand why Maybe they they weren't prioritizing it I think the really where they've messed Up in this sense is just the lack of Sense back Recruitment in general like over the Last seven years like they they've Signed until they signed Romero on that Permanent um over the last seven years They've only signed two other center Backs on permanent deals that was Joe Rhon from swansee for what like 10 Million pound back in 2020 before that It was Davon Sanchez from Ajax back in 2017 like those are the only other Center backs they've signed um you know That goes back to you know the Peak poch Era um it just isn't good enough at all Um it just not not good enough at all And obviously there was that a that was That period of like seemingly no

Investment whatsoever those two years Where they basically didn't sign anyone Um you know before kind of in the yeah Two years before poch was was relieved Of his Services um but yeah I think it's Just a hangover from that it's just a Hangover from that and like you know Even if they signed drage in last summer Would he have got the game time that he Deserved in the first half of the Season Not so sure like it's not that much more Of an adaption period like like you i' I' back him to be a success at the club Like he has been quite promising when He's played I think he looks pretty good When he came on against Villa um but I Think just yeah long term I think there Was always going to be something this Season which POA kogu had to deal with Which was a hangover from the previous Managers or from the previous eras you Know especially that kind of Mourinho Con period where the the recruitment was You know hit and miss to say the least Especially under con um and I think that Is it I think that is it poog's had to Deal with that has he you know has he Made the right decision in every single Game in terms of his defensive lineup no But I think you can forgive him for that Because yeah like there was always going To be something and like you say duges We were expecting Spurs to not finish Above eth this season and that would

Have been fine um the fact that they're Going for top four despite that um just Shows how good a manager Posta kogu is Um but yeah that that is definitely the Most glaring yeah the most glaring Problem that has um you know hung over From from previous regimes yeah oh but I Mean how do you reflect on spurs' season Because obviously they had a new manager Like Chelsea and with pochettino does it Make you think what could have been does It just does it I know they lost their Best player and have got better whereas Chelsea have struggled to sort of kick On yeah I really like poto KLU and not Just because of the manager he is but This the man he he seems to be in the Media how he's dealing with like a lot Of the pressure a lot of the the Expectation that people now put on Spurs Because of how well they've done like Throughout the season but I think like You guys said he's probably suffering From years of mistakes that Spurs have Have made so the squad dep it's almost It's almost um the opposite of Aston Villa Aston Villa have made like really Good like sport obviously they've you Can still say they might have had like a Hang over in terms of that some of the Geral signings but when you look at Their whole Squad and some of the Players they have on their bench you Would look at their bench and be like

You know what there's some players that Can come in that could start when you Look at Spurs for what how pooku wants To play you're talking about a poo Leaving and Emerson going going in oogi Getting injured and then Dave's playing Out wide you know Madison leaving and Maybe a skip for one of those other um Um midfielders playing in in his place And it's like these are the things that Pooku has to deal with and yes we can Say they should have done more to get More center backs in and and maybe done More with the squad that but I think He's actually done a like a really Really good job with the squad that he Has Z no one would have expected um Teimo Vera to not even have like a I Said it on one of the shows a few weeks Ago like I don't expect him to be like a The greatest sign greatest January Signing but to get a few goals and a few Assists and to just maintain what um POA Kogu is trying to do that's all you can Ask from him and then he's going to be Fighting for something and I think even With Johnson as well like he's assigning That cost a lot of money but at the same Time he's almost getting into it now He's starting to warm and there was that Not pressure because I don't think it's A weird one would you say Spurs have Been under pressure to perform really Maybe less so than normal because

Much over the last few years that it was Always going to bite them at some point 100% right I am worried for time because We have a lot of teams to get through so Let's fire away with our next few uh Mikey you're the United fan yeah what's Holding you back this year um a few Things let just find it on yeah I forgot We thought we were moving on to West Ham Yet next but man united somehow far Ahead of West Ham in the Premier League Table um I mean we can't not mention Injuries but I'll just skirt over them Very quickly like apart from Newcastle United have had the most separate Injuries this season you look at you Know the the business that they did in The summer Mason Mountain has made just Four premier league starts he last Played a game in November he may be back In the squad for Liverpool today but Highly doubt he starts for such in such A big game in terms of that Midfield Casemiro Mayu Erikson all had to Significant time on the sidelines ten Hog basically hasn't been able to feel The first choice Midfield um maybe since August maybe ever if you count Mayu as Part of his first choice Midfield um Holand couldn't play till September he You he's had spells out with injuries Since then as well massia was dued to Return in January but now is out for the Season in hindsight the decision to let

Sergy regalon cut his loan short a bad One um so yeah there's been some errors There's you know there's been some kind Of you know cases of bad timing and Information not being right at the time Lisandro Varan Maguire Lindelof all had Significant timeout to at the back so Ten Haag has been dealt with poor hand In that sense um not to say he hasn't Made mistakes you know the way you know Like the second half performance against Man City recently was was really really Bad and I think you I think the manager Has to take responsibility for that um You know there are a number of Performances this season which Regardless of injuries you know United Have been really poor I think they've Conceded the most shots of anyone aside From Sheffield United this time which Just is not good enough given you know Given the the amount that's been yeah The amount that's been invested in the Squad um you know the the the level of Of of many of the players in that side Um just thank God for Johnny Evans eh Johnny Evans because who who knows what You know where United would be without Having being able to call on him uh but I think the Main thing that I think has probably Held back this season and it's a bit of A hypothetical but I think it's still Worth exploring is the um lack of speed

Like getting over the grief of him him Leaving the club and are now looking at Successes for him so you made some big Signings in Executives like Dan Ashworth Omar barard as well really highly rated For sure like um and yeah they like the Early signs from the Ratcliff regime is That you know are positive ones um but Had say Ashworth been in place you know Had had this been done by last summer And Ashworth was at least in place by The end of the summer or by January um Then I think you know we'd at least have A clearer idea of where United are going And there would be less pressure on ten Hog ultimately you know I think a lot of The problems you know we can look back Over years and years and years at United's Recruitment and say that that Is a reason why they're there now and Especially with PSR for sure that is the Case but even in the short term you know United's problems have stemmed I from Ten hog being given too much power over Transfers um you know the Anthony Transfer the amount of money spent on Him it is has has affected United in the Transfer Windows since um you know even The casemiro transfer although you know Was was great for last season you know In terms of PSR what could United have Done with that Midfield had they not Spent so much on an aging star who has Had ill discipline since arriving at the

Club in terms of missing games through Suspension um has experienced a real Drop off in form in general this season Especially in the first half of the Campaign um you know relying on an 18-year-old kobby Mayu it's to bring Stability to that Midfield is 70 million Pound Winger yeah it's yeah it's not It's not great ten Hog's fault but still Yeah I mean I think the Sancho one's a Difficult one I think the Sancho one is A difficult one because I think in General ten Hog on disciplinary matters and in terms Of resetting the culture of the club I Think has been proven right at at many Stages um and so yeah it's hard to it's Hard imag chisoo in that dressing room Right now how would he be reacting I Know I mean speculating on speculating On Sancho is a difficult one because It's yeah it's a bit more of a thorny Issue but ten the evidence suggests that Ten hog has been right in most cases um So yeah I think I think that is it like I think you know ten hog having to do The transfer side of things was was Never the right choice was never the Right choice like what are United doing Spending 9 million on a loan fee for Sophan amarat at the end of the summer I Mean come on you know like it all of These things contribute to what has been A really poor season at United um and

Through going to have to do these much Quicker West Ham let's talk West Ham I Think if you look at their stats I've Got them here 15th for possession 14th For pass accuracy 14th shots per game 17 Shots against XG one of the lowest in The 13th for XG 17th for XG against in Terms of pro like passes per defensive Action they're one of the lowest in the League uh in terms of the amount of uh Passes they complete in the final third One of the lowest in the league this Doesn't scream a style of management That I necessarily fit think fits the The players they've got there now I Really don't I think they had a really Promising window and look James War Price can do the the Moy job for sure But mahamed kudus Jared Bowen Lucas Peta Like these are these are players that Can really play and I think West Ham's Football could be much more entertaining And look we're filming this before the Game against fryberg West Ham obviously One- nil down in that game they played Perfectly well in that first leg away From home nearly got a vital draw you Know had a mistake in the final few Minutes lack of concentration whatever That could really cost them but whether They go through that or not you've got To look at the overall picture and West Ham have the lowest goal difference in The top 12 teams it's joint lowest with

Edson Alvarez brilliant signing mamed Kudo's brilliant signing James Wood Prous has played more minutes than Anyone by Jared bow and in the squad um And yeah their classy signings as well Their Champions League level signings And this isn't me saying that like West Ham fans should expect West Ham to be Challenging for the Champions League Every single year but they do deserve Some good football from those players They absolutely do um they absolutely do Um they've got like you know they've got Good depth in in in positions you know Maver Pano signed for 20 million euros Is is the third choice Center back um Like the recruitment has been so much Better than what we kind of knew from West Ham in in Seasons before especially During the kind of Pelini year and Before then um so yeah like and it's the Manner of of of their performances as Well you know that defeat to Arsenal and Forest they conceded 6.4 expected goals Against across those two games like That's just not good enough especially Against a really you know halfhazard Forest team who you know have not Improved since um Steve Cooper and and In some ways look worse actually under Nuno esparito Santo um you know for I Guess like the sale of four hours and BNR leaving on Loan in January you know That that doesn't help in terms of

Think they could have remained top four Contenders if their recruitment had been Better and the reality is none of their Top signings from the summer or none of Their signings from the Summer full stop Have played have made more than 12 Starts Joel Pedro has made 12 starts in The league balaba nine start starts for Buan actually no sorry V Bugan 13 starts But the Outfield players Joel Pedro has The most Eagle 11 starts to hood Obviously six starts now at stard Milner 11 starts fatty obviously on loan but Not a lot of three starts injury Problems of course continuing with him It just feels like given that they spent Over a hundred million euros in the Summer which again you know it was Around just over half of what they made Back in transfers but nevertheless a lot Of recruitment that's that's a big Rebuild they're doing there um it just Feels like yeah transitional year for Brighton and I think again a result of You know that very wellestablished Hierarchy that they had in place in Terms of the recruitment yeah it feels Like a transitional year you know Sam Joel going to chelse in November as well So there's you know again there's going To be more turnover um so so yeah I Think that it's just it's just a Hangover from that it's it's Understandable but like you know when

Unforeseeable it it was you know Unforeseeable in in many respects should Have been foreseeable though well I Don't know but like but but but equally Was he was that money actually the best What was Tali the best use of that money Anyway like could they have recruited Maybe a more creative presence in Midfield could they have gone harder for Jam oh my goodness I know I know well Maybe not back then and now I feel like I'm a bit more safe to do hindsight with The with the with the luxury of that but Not C sign yeah I don't know like you Know like Newcastle you know there isn't really in That Squad a top top Creator I know like Anthony Gordon's been great on the left This year but before this year that Wasn't the case um I think Newcastle Would benefit from having a central Creator in that side and they don't have One and Tali wasn't going to be that Anyway um as it happens they Sil Tali They've not been able to use him um Aside from what's five starts at the Start of the season and that has cost Them like the Midfield injuries H have Been really brutal to them and I know They've they've you know made do but It's like you know again like a bit like United with kobby Mayu it's like here's 17-year-old leis Smiley to save the day It's like that's not sustainable um and

Also yeah right winger they should have Signed a right winger as well um again Like how much money were they able to Actually spend last summer not not a Huge amount but um but yeah they they I I think they didn't yeah they didn't do Themselves favors in that sense fair Enough Auber we've been talking for ages This episode Chelsea the floor is yours What is holding Chelsea back the most This year do you think um I'd say it's Difficult because it it comes in waves Like do you know what I mean like I Think there's inconsistencies uh within The squad and The injuries as well at the start of the Season but then there's also Inconsistencies in terms of how the Players um play on a week- toe basis and I don't know necessarily whether to Blame that I don't think it's a blame Thing I think it's just all run I think Pochettino could get more out of the Players that he currently has and I Think maybe the the typical style of Play that we've seen for portino doesn't Necessarily work for some of the players That he currently has at Chelsea but Then when you look at some performances This season you know I've said it in the Chat oh we've been great we were great Against C we great against Arsenal you Know what I mean but then you have games Like the one against United like the one

Against wolves and it's like that's a Completely different team so I think It's just Been inconsistent but that's what you Get with the youth and and having so Many young players you know average age Being around 22 23 years old and I don't Actually think it's as bad as we may Make it seem obviously as a Chelsea fan I'd want Chelsea to be in a better Position but I have to be realistic with The fact that we got rid of a lot of Players with experience we had a lot of Injuries we got a manager in that hasn't Won in England so he has that pressure On him himself in the carabar Cup Final You kind of saw that naivity around you Know playing against the Liverpool side That is so experienced in those finals That even when they play the youngsters That are coming on there's still a level Of arrogance that they play with you Didn't really see an arrogance from Chelsea you saw um like the aftermath of Players players that have lost so many Finals in England do you know what I Mean and a team that have lost so many Finals so I think if if poch is a bit Braver in terms of how he plays in Certain games and and the players just Being more consistent I think Chelsea Will be calm but I'd say inconsistencies Is that is that fair enough I think That's definitely fair enough Li down

Center back performances I feel like There's been too many errors from Players that is true I don't I don't Think is necessarily a bad that's the Style of play though again so you're You're and The Chopping and changing Back there as well but even at that I Think when you look at some of the Players that are playing from the back I Think the Sassy has made a few errors But I think overall he's been fine yeah Um I think B has been more off it you Been off it but that was because like I'm not going to say because of injuries But he's had a been an out of injuries Levi Co playing at left back he's had to Adjust to the difference between left Left back and uh left Center back and Then you bring Trevor Chala back in he's Not played all season the last two games He's playing on the left side with Center back when trying to play out from The back I was literally behind the goal Against Newcastle had one fan behind me That was just screaming stop passing it To him because he's struggling to he's Right footed so it Instinct he wants to Come back inside he's not going to try To go to his left back and that's what Kept on happening that's how we even Conceded um the goal because you're Trying to overplay and it's just like Other teams learn from those type of Things but because we have that youth

And we want to stick to it you even see Petravic when he had to kick it long he Was getting frustrated but it's like bro It's fine the ball is better up there And that's proper old school is better Up there than it is in your low and Confidence exactly so I think if they Learn those things and learn like a few Of the fundamentals and and po just Being a bit Brave I think Chelsea will Be in a in a calm spot fair enough Mikey Anything to add on Chelsea I think I Think again Chelsea is kind of an all Encompassing thing and it's like a a Vicious cycle in terms of like you know Start of the season they were playing Pretty well but they weren't getting the Results um you know and we we've seen That a bit more recently as well but Then that turns into pressure on the Players um that turns into pressure on The manager and then that leads to poor Poor form and poor and poor results like I think it's always going to be a Difficult one at a club where the fans Do not rate the ownership the fans also Are like you know the fans are I think You know don't rate the manager for Reasons of yeah he he managed a rival Before I like Po will always be fighting A losing back in that sense um you know Remember when like bonitz went to Chelsea and like you know won them Europa League despite you know having

Callus to sack him every every week like It's always going to be really really Difficult when there is just that Atmosphere at the club like it you know You can compare to I know I think Chelsea is unique in that sense you you Talk about like United in terms of the Pressure that comes with that job and That you know there is pressure for Different reasons at at United or at Arsenal where like the atmosphere can Become toxic as well but with Chelsea It's it feels quite unique you have a Fan base that were very used to a a Previous ownership where you know Chopping and changing managers works now You have that that fan base still it's Still a bit instilled in Cent C to a Certain extent but but the general just The general feeling though is just is Just a bad one like it is just a bad one I think but that's what I'm saying I Think it's just an identity thing I Think if Chelsea were able to have cuz It's something that we've been missing For like the last 18 months if you look At the team and you say okay cool we Know know how we want to play we know We're going to lose certain games even Playing this way but we believe in where We're going I think that where Chelsea Has suff struggling Chelsea fans are Struggling is that they don't Necessarily see like a consistent style

Of play they don't know what to believe They don't know what team's going to Come out is it going to be the team that We saw against City when it was 4-4 even When it was 1-1 or is it going to be the Team that we saw at Old Trafford when we Lost it's like if there was a Consistency in the performance and in How we were playing I think fans would Be fine with that but it's just the fact That you see a bad performance and then You hear certain comments and it's like That's not how it's not we're not Expecting you to win the tro like being Even being top four like at the start of The season I said top four we should get That cuz preseason I was gassed as the Season started going I said Okay a European spot then you land yourself in 11 in 11th and 10th and always teering That line and it's like if you're not Able to get consistent wins even if you Have two good performances if you have a Loss you're in crisis again because You're still 10th you're still 11th you Know what I mean Brighton went like four Weeks or five weeks without a a Convincing win but it was still like Eighth so no one's really saying much Chelsea's different so yeah I think if They were able if he was able to get the Team into a position where you can see That progression I don't think it would Be as extreme would would you say would
